Deslandres

18 November 1996 150 mm reflector x61 & x135

There was much subtle shading visible within Deslandres, which I have only indicated in general terms. Shadows cast by the southeast walls showed the effect of fine "spires" at x135. Running from Lexell to Hell was what seemed to be a great gash in the lunar surface, and I can only assume that here the surface falls away quite steeply (in addition to the Moon's curvature) as one of my maps shows the spine of land to the west as being the far rim.
