Some highlights of previous live
lunar and planetary imaging sessions
When imaging, I usually operate the
instruments in the field using a tablet PC (Fujitsu Stylistic 3400)
with a wireless LAN PCMCIA card which sends the images wirelessly
directly to my router indoors. Sometimes the instruments are
controlled from indoors at my PC, remotely, via wires.
For my broadcasts I use one of the
following (depending on the object and/or conditions):
80mm achromat (Helios); 127mm
Maksutov-Casegrain (Meade ETX-125); 200mm Schmidt-Cass (Meade LX-90).
The 80mm achromat uses a Meade
StarFinder handset (a basic version of Autostar) that was originally
supplied with the Meade 4504 reflector. The ETX-125 and LX-90 are
controlled with their own Autostars.
Thanks to Mike Brown and Brian
Jeffrey for their help on ToUcam imaging techniques - you have been a
great help!
